Senate Action Due On Choice For
Syosset Postmaster
The
name of Robert E. Boslet,
25, of Kirkwood street, Syosset,
has been placed by President
Roosevelt before the senate for
confirmation as postmaster of the
north shore village, it was learned
today.
James A. Devine has been act-
ing postmaster. Last July, the
postoffice was raised in class, and
a competitive examination or-
dered for the job. Boslet, Albert
Budd and Charles Garvey were
among the highest when the rat-
ings were made known. Devine
said today he had no official con-
firmation of Boslet's nomination.
Boslet, a graduate of St. Leon-
ard's business school, Brooklyn,
has for the past few years been
associated with his father, Joseph
Boslet, in the operation of a res-
taurant located opposite the post-
office.

position of postmaster of Syosset,
it was learned this week. Presi-
dent Roosevelt has placed his
name before the Senate whose
confirmation is necessary to the
appointment.

Several weeks ago Devine re-
fused to comment on rumors con-
cerning a change, or on rumors
in connection with a signed pe-
tition which he is reported to
have sent to Postmaster Farley
asking that he be retained at the
Syosset Postoffice.
